Womba Africa Dancing and Drumming, a unique and talented group of youthful dancers and drummers, will be performing at the Calabash pub at the Titanic Beach, Sakumono, Accra on 6th March, 2017.
In an exclusive interview with the Director of the cultural group, Frederick Quaye Odai, he disclosed that it will be a night to remember.
“We will perform to the delight of the many fans who will patronise the pub on March 6, 2017, which happens to mark Ghana’s 60thh birthday,” he stated.
Mr. Quaye Odai therefore, used the opportunity to urge the youth to come there in their numbers and witness real African culture.
Founded by three brilliant former members of Pan Africa Orchestra and Baby Kusun— Fredrick Quaye Odai, Raymond Odai Laryea and Richmond Otu Laryea—the group has an aim to travel all around the world to share the beautiful culture of Africa through music and dance.
“Womba,” coined from the Ga dialect, which means “we are coming,” aspires to exhibit the exciting unique tradition and contemporary West African rhythm and harmonies through a vibrant display of drumming and dancing
The group is made up of seasoned and experienced youth who have travelled to Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and most of the Africa countries
Since its inception in 2010, the group has performed to the delight of thousands of people.
Last year, it entertained patrons at the African Royal Beach, formerly known as Dutch Hotel, and Assemblies of God, Nungua Brigade.
