Justice William Atuguba, a member of Ghana’s Supreme Court, is the acting Chief Justice in the absence of Justice Georgina Theodora Woode, who has taken her leave prior to her retirement.
The Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye, while introducing various dignitaries in Parliament today [Tuesday], ahead of President Akufo-Addo’s first state of the nation address, referred to Justice Atuguba as the acting Chief Justice.
Justice Atuguba once acted as Chief Justice from May 25, 2016 until June 3, 2016, while Justice Georgina Theodora Woode was outside the country on official assignment.
As one of Ghana’s most respected justices, Mr. Atuguba chaired panel that sat on Ghana’s historic 2012 election petition.
