Bawumia in Mauritius: The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, left Ghana today, Friday 10th March, 2017, for Mauritius. He is billed to be in the Southern Africa country for 3 days.
Included in the Vice President’s entourage are the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey; Minister for Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful; Minister for Business Development, , Ibrahim Awal and the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Reginald Grant.

First and foremost, Bawumia was invited to grace Mauritius’ National Day celebration, as a special guest of honour. Mauritius is celebrating her 49th Independence Anniversary today being March 10. The Vice President will then use the opportunity to engage in some other important activities in the country.
Bawumia is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the President of Mauritius, Her Excellency Mrs. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, alongside the country’s Prime Minister and other government officials. The meeting is aimed at strengthening Ghana’s affiliations with Mauritius.
He is also billed to attend a Breakfast Business Meeting which will be hosted by the country’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, in association with the Investment Board.
This is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s first official trip outside the country since after his inauguration as the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana. He is expected to return to the country on Monday, 13th March, 2017 with his entourage.
