The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Mr Alhassan Suhuyini has explained his involvement in the circumstances that led to chaos in the chamber of Parliament last Thursday.
According to him, his colleague lawmakers for Manhyia South, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, and Ablekuma West, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, rained insults on him on the floor of parliament. He said while Dr Opoku Prempeh referred to him as a “mad” man, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful also hurled other insults at him at the same time.
In a radio interview on Accra based Class FM Monday morning, he said: “I told him [Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh] that he was equally mad and that is when my colleagues came to calm me down. They didn’t think I should respond in like manner.
“He did it on purpose and that is why it was necessary I made him aware that he didn’t have monopoly over such conduct,” Mr Suhuyini said.
