A National Democratic Congress (NDC) bigwig who was the District Chief Executive of then Awutu Efutu Senya under the J. J. Rawlings administration, retired Lieutenant Daniel Osardu (Danmel) has shared reasons behind his defection to the minority New Patriotic Party (NPP).
To have contributed immensely in undertaking initiatives and projects during his time in office including the raising of frontiers for the NDC, the staunch opinion leader believes he is not being treated fairly by party folks.
Danmel says he does not suffer this unfair treatment alone but with other several members nationwide including former president Jerry John Rawlings hence, the spree of defection in the party.
He lamented, with a lot entrusted in Foreign Affairs Minister and former Trade Minister who is the current Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency, Hon. Hanna Serwah Tetteh, she is yet to avail herself to attend to the needs of the people of the area.
“She Hanna, who got introduced to the party by her late father, Dr. Tetteh and gained our support and have since assisted in elevating her to this level only to realize that she forms allies against some of us. Never has she also done anything tangible to help with the upbringing of the youth within the Awutu Senya West District.
Awutu Senya used to limp when it comes to education; thank good we are now doing better. What has Hanna done to ensure those guys are sustained in the job market to encourage others to pursue higher education? The Ayensu Starch Factory is not doing well.
What is she doing about it? So far the NDC has done some and Ghanaians appreciate them for all that, but they should allow for those with the edge such as the NPP take over now”. He added.
Rtd Osardu noted the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, George Nenyi Andah had called on him following which other high ranking NPP members including its Presidential running-mate, Dr. M. Bawumia to come on board with his experience as an outstanding organizer to wrestle and whisk power from the incumbent National Democratic Congress.
With him, the chances of George are bright with his campaign slogan, “power to do more”. The ex-service man didn’t miss the opportunity to advice electorates to be tolerant during this electioneering season so as to enjoy a continuous peace and harmony citing, conflict is nothing worth entertaining in whatsoever circumstances.
