The leader of the incoming government transition team Yaw Osafo Marfo, has reiterated that the new government will not abrogate ongoing projects signed by the Mahama-led administration which is being executed by contractors throughout the country.
He observed that it will be suicidal for the new government to discontinue such projects especially when it will inure to the benefits of the citizenry for which reason such projects were signed off.
Mr Osafo Marfo who is a former finance minister however hinted that some of the projects which were overly inflated will be investigated and subsequently reviewed with the executing contractors and the right sums awarded for them to continue work.
“We are not going to stop the projects. We will continue all the projects started by the outgoing administration but let me state that we will review all the inflated contracts. We will let the contractors know that he has overly charged for the job he has been given”, he revealed on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra.
On progress of work at the transition, he said only nine out of little over 36 files have been received and currently being looked into by the incoming team.
He however stated that the government team has promised to handover a chunk of the files to the incoming government by the close of today December 19, 2016 calling for prayers from Ghanaians to enable them discharge their duties efficiently and effectively.
