The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia has promised to retire the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Adansi Asokwa constituency, KT Hammond.
He hints that the legislator who is currently hiding under certain immunities of parliament after that will be made to account for the whereabouts of the drill ship he was reported to have facilitated in its sale.
Addressing party supporters at Adansi Asokwa, he insisted that Mr KT Hammond must answer for his actions and once he is out of parliament, it will be easier to take such actions.unity-walk-banner2
“We will retire KT Hammond in 2016 so he can take his rest. While he is resting and no longer in parliament, we will now demand questions from him about the whereabouts of the drill ship. If we try to do that while he is in parliament, people will be accusing us of not allowing a parliamentarian to do his work”, he stated.
Following the recommendations of the Commission, Government in its White Paper on the report of the Judgment Debt Commission in November 2015, directed the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) to investigate KT Hammond.
KT Hammond who was the Deputy Energy Minister at the time has severally been questioned on how he disbursed US$900,000 which was left after the sale of the ship.
