A Former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Sam Cudjoe, has revealed that the party on assumption of power will construct boarding facilities for the Community Day Senior High Schools(SHSs) constructed by the current National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) government.
He stated that boarding facilities in some of the schools, will ease the burden of parents considering the cost involved in commuting to and from the schools that are a little far from the communities in which they have been situated.
On Abusua Fm’s Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, he said the reason for which many Junior High School graduates are yearning for the top schools in the country is because of the boarding facilities that also cut their costs.
“We will construct boarding facilities for some of them because traveling to and from some of the schools involves a lot of cost. If there are boarding houses provided, the cost will be cut”, he disclosed.
This is not the first time members of the NPP have hinted they will provide additional ancillary facilities for the Community Day Senior High School (SHS) embarked on by President John Dramani Mahama in fulfillment of his campaign promise.
The NPP flagbearer in July this year promised to add boarding houses to the community day Senior High Schools (SHSs).unity-walk-banner2
Speaking to opinion leaders and people of Adugyama Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo said the facilities provided were not enough and observed that the communities were deserving of a boarding facilities which he intends to put up to give them that befitting status.
“The president promised to build two hundred communities day Senior High Schools. So far he has been able to build just five. The one which is here in your community is not even the best. I will ensure I put up a boarding facility for it to also become a legacy in this town.”
