The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Vincent Oppong Asamoah has cautioned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that his outfit will descend heavily on them after the December 7 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Fox FM, the Deputy Minister averred that the Ministry is aware of the denigrating and integrity insulting comments made by some FA members but will not act now.
According to him, post-2016 elections will serve the Ministry the opportune time to show the FA where power lies.
“Let them (GFA) continue with their vicious attack on Nii Lante Vanderpuye. At the right time, the law will take its course. Those people will have themselves to be blamed when we slap them with massive legal suits.
He added “Let’s wait till the election is over, and we shall see where power lies. The can continue to vilify and slander the Minister with articles on Ghanasoccernet, but in due time, we will show them their real size”. A furious Oppong Asamoah disclosed to Kumasi-based Fox FM Friday.
The Sports Ministry under its current leadership has been engaging in a war of words with the GFA.
The outburst by the Minister’s right-hand man will deepen the seeming hatred between the two bodies at a time when the Ghana Black Stars and Ghana football, in general, need them to work in unison.
