We Had Vacancies When 205 Sacked Recruits Were Engaged

Mr. Ambrose Ntiwaa Jnr, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the National Service Secretariat (NSS), has explained that the recruitment of the dismissed recruits was justified because at the time of the recruitment, they were vacancies available.

He said, the recruitment was given to a private firm; a situation he posited raised serious concerns forcing the Director of General Administration to write a petition the Public Service Commission forcing them to call for a halt into the recruitment process for further probe. But it could not work and so we went ahead with the recruitment process. The recruits were given a letter and asked to start work on December 15, 2016.’’

He further explained that, after the new administration was sworn in, the Director General of Administration again wrote a letter requesting why his letter was not given attention.

An investigation was conducted and the appointment of the recruits was revoked,’’ he added.

Mr. Ntiwaa Jnr went on to state that, the NSS has never awarded to a private firm a recruitment procedure on behalf of the except with the recent one which has forced the new administration to revoke their appointment.

He indicated the 205 recruits were recruited for replacement purposes after some staff in 2014 were dismissed over some ghost names saga.
