New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Forces has stated that they do not owe President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo any apology for their raid at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council.
Vice Chairman of the group, Akwesi speaking on Adom Fm’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” on Monday said they will continue tormenting the Security Coordinator till President Akufo Addo appoints a new person.
“I don’t think we owe the president any apology. We have not thought about it for now. What have we done wrong that we should apologize”, he asked.
When reminded by the host that their conduct was usurping the powers of the president who appointed the embattled regional security coordinator and smacks of disrespect, he said “why did they not say we were disrespecting them when we risked our lives to campaign for them to win power”
He revealed that the leadership of that the group has no regrets in raiding the RCC and throwing out Mr George Agyei and will repeat it should he go back to the office questioning where he was when they were suffering in the trenches.
“We do not know him…..Where was he when we risked our lives campaigning. Our leaders asked us to look for a sponsor and so we settled Mohammed Seidu who invested close to one million Ghana Cedis in logistics and other things with the promise he was to be made the regional coordinator. Why did they bring an unknown person to occupy the position”, he asked.
He indicated that it is not possible for them to risk their lives while some sat in the comfort of their air-conditioned offices only to be rewarded with the sweat of those who toiled.
“We don’t know Mr George Agyei and he didn’t contribute to the victory of the party and so we don’t need him. In fact, we don’t regret attacking him at all and we will continue to storm the place and torment him till he is changed” he said.
“Our leaders promised to bring someone who understands us and that person is Mohammed Seidu. He supported us when we were all fighting for the victory of the party in the 2016 general elections and so we were shocked to hear that one Mr Adjei has been appointed and approved. We don’t need him” he stressed.
