Political parties in the Jaman North constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region have agreed to postpone to tomorrow [Thursday] voting in the constituency.
On Wednesday morning, Afram Odiakopa, a reporter at Jenya radio told Citi News that voting had delayed in all the polling stations in the constituency because executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area expressed worry over the voter transfer list which they claimed was bloated by over 30 names.
He added that several efforts to have the situation resolved proved futile hence the crunch meeting that resulted in voting in the constituency being called off.
Mr. Odiakopa further reported that scores of voters are currently in queues awaiting the outcome the crunch meeting.
“There was a DISEC meeting and came to the conclusion for the election processes be started but the NDC supporters did not agree. They were saying that additional names were still in the register and unless the names are deleted, they will never allow the electoral materials to dispatch the electoral materials.”
