The Convention People’s Party(CPP) Youth League, has asked Ghanaians to “check for the incorruptibility of Presidential candidates” who scramble for power in this year’s elections before giving them their mandate come December 7, 2016.
A statement released by the Fighters and signed by the National Youth Organizer, CPP Youth League, Ernesto Yeboah to commemorate the Founder’s Day said: “voting for a corrupt candidate clearly means signing the death warrant of several thousands of Ghanaians and untold hardships for another Four (4) God forsaken years.”
The statement added that any leader who shies away from committing to immediately declare his/her assets publicly before the month of December, among others to show their true commitment to fighting corruption must be rejected by the voters in the upcoming elections.
The statement also urged Ghanaians not to fall for monetization of any sort in this elections, but rather scrutinized the various messages presented to them by each candidate and make informed decisions based on the policy and ideas they come with.
“…we appeal to the voting populace not to be influenced nor swayed by the tokens the candidates will come bearing in the name of gifts, in order to buy votes. They are not doing you any favours, because these items were bought with remnants of your tax monies which they have hoarded over the years. Rather pay close attention to their message and demeanor to make voting decisions, the statement said.
