Director of Elections for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah has urged supporters of the party to stay and protect ballot boxes after voting on December 7.
According to him, ballot boxes contain votes of the NPP and they should therefore not allow those votes to be taken away by “unscrupulous” persons to mar the December polls.
“Party supporters must stay after voting and protect the ballot boxes. They shouldn’t dare go home after voting because the ballot boxes have votes of NPP and therefore should be protected vigorously” he stated on Accra based Okay fm.
He said the party cannot entirely trust the police and the EC and therefore it is important that they remain at the polling station to protect the boxes.
Mr Agyei Mensah Korsah maintained that President John Dramani Mahama’s defeat in the 2016 elections will be inevitable.
According to him, the NPP will win the elections with a wide margin so that there will be no room to manipulate the results to favour the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
