Rawlings snubbed Vanderpuije in such a manner that never went unnoticed as the video clip of the embarrassing moment has since its occurrence gone viral
The beef between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its founder, Jerry John Rawlings seems to be developing beyond imaginations going by recent developments, especially the one that occurred today at the House of Parliament before the commencement of outgoing President Mahama’s Final State of the Nation Address delivery.
It happened that Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije moved up to JJ Rawlings as he was moving up the red-carpeted stairs on his arrival at the House of Parliament to exchange warm greetings with him. But unfortunately, the former Accra Mayor was greeted with what could turn out to be one of the most embarrassing moments of his life!
Instead of responding to his pleasantry, Rawlings looked on Vanderpuije with such a repulsive ‘what-do-you-want’ glance and continued on his way up the stairs. On making a second attempt to grab a usual response from the NDC Founder, the MP-elect for Ablekuma South received a more embarrassing ‘step-aside gesture’ from Rawlings.
The exact reason behind this untoward reaction from the Former President of Ghana is yet unknown but it could be easily guessed that it counts among the recent repulsion of JJ Rawlings of the ‘trending’ NDC corruption and incompetence which eventually led to their defeat in the 2106 election.
Before and after the elections, JJ Rawlings has been showing off attitudes as well as making comments that are telling the world that his heart is not with the Mahama-led NDC administration.
