Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Volta Regional Campaign Communication Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Wednesday said the US Elections showed that real power belonged to the people and not pollsters and the media.
He said President John Dramani Mahama was therefore keeping faith with the people for a resounding victory in the December 7 polls and not relying on pollsters and pundits.
“We are with the people, pundits, pollsters and the media can engage in anything,” Mr Ablakwa said at a press conference in Ho.
He said for instance in the Region, President Mahama had kept faith with the people by “giving them their share of the national cake” and he (President Mahama) was extremely confident of victory on December 7.
Mr Ablakwa enumerated projects by the government in health, education, road, Information Communication Technology, agriculture and commerce in the Region and said evidence on the ground did not support suggestions that the Region did not receive its fair share of the national cake.
He said the government had created thousands of jobs in the Region through private public partnership and free zone arrangements and reiterated President Mahama’s commitment to job creation in the country.
Mr Ablakwa said the next NDC government would establish Eastern Corridor Development Authority, to champion development of the Region, construct a new sports stadium in Ho and complete the Ho Aerodrome and asked the electorate to vote massively and retain President Mahama in power.
