Minister-designate for Communications, Ursula Gifty Owusu Ekuful took her turn before the Appointments Committee today to be grilled.
She addressed questions from both sides of the house with a clear display of proficiency and command of the issues.
Mrs. Ekuful indicated her projections for the communications sector bearing in mind the huge impact it can make in the country’s growth and development.
Among other things, she touched on the actualization of a fibre network across the country to improve data accessibility as well as enhancing internet penetration and ensuring telcos perform their duties efficiently to the satisfaction of customers.
Speaking on the use of technology to combat crime in the country, she mentioned plans to site CCTV cameras at vantage positions nationwide to help trace criminal activities.
Mrs. Ekuful also apologized for her display of acerbity in media discussions, maintaining that she had turned on a new leaf.
Ursula is the fifth woman to have appeared before the committee for vetting.
