Universal Merchant Bank (UMB Bank) on Thursday, introduced three additional VISA Cards to give its customers more options in carrying out their transactions.
The new VISA Cards are UMB VISA Prepaid Card, the UMB VISA Business Card and the UMB Platinum Card.
As one of Ghana’s most customer centric banks, UMB Bank partnered with Visa Inc. in April 2015 to introduce the UMB VISA Classic debit card.
Therefore, the introduction of the three new products, would go a long way to strengthen the partnership between the UMB Bank Visa Inc.
Mr John Awuah, the Chief Executive Officer, UMB Bank, speaking at the official launch of the three new products in Accra, recounted that the launch of the UMB VISA Classic card last year gave customers of the Bank, enhanced access to their funds and more transactional options.
“However, we recognised that while our VISA Classic card gave our customers more options, it did not fully satisfy the unique needs of certain categories of our customers,” he stated.
Mr Awuah said the investment made in bringing the new cards to the Bank’s cherished customers was a clear indication of UMB’s unflinching commitment to put customers at the centre of everything that the bank did.
“This year we have executed several initiatives such as the opening of three new branches, the expansion of our ATM network and the introduction of products such as UMB Salary Overdraft,” he said.
He also mentioned the inauguration of the UMB Centre for Businesses to cater exclusively for the needs of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
“We assure all our partners that we will continue to carry out initiatives that will only enrich lives and help to grow their businesses,” Mr Awuah added.
Highlighting the features of each card, UMB Bank’s Head of Card Operations, Mrs Irene Adjei-Bisa said the UMB VISA Prepaid card offered customers a unique combination of convenience and control.
“The card serves as a wallet and is a great way to safely set aside funds for specific purposes such as online shopping, holidays, festive periods, hobbies and other interests,” she said.
She explained that the card gave customers easy access to the global Visa acceptance network spanning over 200 countries.
Mrs Adjei-Bisa said the UMB VISA Business Card also gave business owners the ability to control how, when and where payments were authorised for employees’ cards.
She also explained that the card also provided card holders with access to a dedicated 24/7 VISA cardholder services centre to assist with international emergency card and cash replacement.
While communicating the benefits of the UMB VISA Platinum card, Mrs Adjei-Bisa said the UMB Platinum card gave high-end exclusive benefits to customers and these included benefits at more than 900 luxury hotels around the world, including VIP guest status and short-term insurance (90 days) against loss, theft/specified causes of accidental damage to goods purchased with a UMB VISA Platinum card.
“We are very excited to launch these three new cards and we encourage all of our customers to walk into any one of our branches and sign up for a UMB VISA Card that suits their unique needs,” Ms Yvonne Botchey, UMB Bank’s Director of Marketing and Communications, added.
