British Prime Minister, Theresa May, has congratulated President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his “hard fought campaign” to win the December 7 Presidential election with a landslide victory.
May in a wired message dated December 13, 2016, reminded the new Ghanaian leader about the long-standing relationship between Ghana and the United Kingdom and expressed the belief that the period offers them a great opportunity to do more for their respective countries.
“I look forward to continuing our excellent co-operation on defence, drugs, crime, and national security, and to working together on challenges such as tackling corruption. Alongside our ongoing support to Ghana in areas such as governance, poverty reduction, education and health, I hope that we can deepen our economic co-operation,” the wired message from 10 Downing Street in part read.
