Turkish club Ulubey Belediyespor thought that they had done a good day’s work when they defeated their rival Karabukspor 20-0, but were left disappointed despite the demolition.
Alihan Akyol netted five goals as Ulubey smashed their amateur opponents, and was expecting to pick up a good match bonus for his exploits in front of goal.
However, the club’s president was less than impressed with how Ulubey had humiliated Karabukspor, and revealed after the game that he would not give any payments to the players.
“Our players didn’t show respect to their opponent. So I’ll punish them and won’t give their bonuses,” Isa Turkcan said after the game.
Ulubey have enjoyed a perfect start to the season, winning three games from three thanks to a 5-0 win over Korganspor and a narrow 3-2 victory at home to Turnasuyuspor, as well as the 20-0 mauling of Karabukspor.
The Black Sea side currently sit at the top of the Ordu 1st Division Group A thanks to their fantastic goal difference, which is an astonishing 26 after just three games.
They have yet to meet fellow title rivals Altinordu Belediyespor, who have not yet conceded a goal this season and are eager to make amends for last season’s 3-1 playoff final loss to Ulubey.
