TTU Launches 5yrs Strategic Plan

TAKORADI Technical University (TTU), is to be the preferred engineering and applied sciences university of choice devoted to excellence in teaching and applied industrial research.

Against this backdrop, it had successfully developed and launched its five-year strategic plan for the period 2016 – 2020.

The strategic plan seeks to provide clear objectives and direction for the University, identify and focus on viable realistic strategies and activities, promote optimum utilization of available resources (efficiency) and promote maximum realization of stated goals and objectives (effectiveness).

These were disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Rev Prof. John Frank Eshun during the first congregation ceremony to present a report on the state of the University, and award degrees, diplomas and certificates to deserving graduands who had successfully completed their programs of study in the 2015/2016 academic year.

He said, “all curricula in the competency-based training made in line with the modern technology and industrial requirements have been reviewed whereas new programs from certificate and diploma levels to B-Tech and M-Tech requirements have also been developed”.

The University successfully turned out 2,940 graduants: 91 were awarded with Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree. 2,435 were awarded Higher National Diploma (HND); 114 Civil Engineering graduants receive HND Competency-Based Training (CBT) Certificates from the National Board for Professional and Technicians Examination (NABPTEX). 258 were also awarded Non-Tertiary Certificates of attendance and 42 awarded with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Certificates.

Under the Bachelor of Technology Degree program, 10 obtained 1st Class, 54 obtained Second Class (Upper Division), 26 obtained Second Class (Lower Division) and 1 Pass.

For the HND programs, 76 obtained 1st Class, 871 obtained 2nd Class (Upper Division), 1,261 obtained 2nd Class Lower with 227 Pass.
