Gender Minister, Otiko Afisa Djaba continues her political tirade against Former President Mahama over the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority(SADA) fiasco.
“Till the day I die, I still insist that President Mahama should apologize to Ghanaians, because I personally was affected by poverty and I know its implications” Otiko said Wednesday in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM.
Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba maintained she had no apology for former President John Mahama for comments she made during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign in 2016.
Madam Otiko Djaba is reported to have described the former president as “wicked, evil and someone with a heart of the devil” prior to the 2016 elections.
The issue which came up during her vetting almost threatened her appointment, as the minority in parliament irked by Otiko’s stance on the matter vowed not to approve her by consensus. But Madam Djaba stood her grounds and was finally approved by majority vote.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen political programme, Madam Djaba who was annoyed when activists of the opposition party relaunched calls for her to still apologize to Mahama for her harsh comments stated that she still can’t be forced to render apology to Mahama over her convictions about the past leader.
“Nobody was prosecuted on the issue of SADA. The NDC government has still not accounted for how the SADA money was expended and the big scandal on the Guinea fowls.
“The vetting is over. If anybody else has to apologize to Ghanaians, personally is President Mahama who should apologize.”
