The country’s leading television station, TV3 Network in partnership with mobile network operator, Tigo, will hold its annual blood donation drive aimed at increasing the stock of blood at the National blood bank that can be accessed by patients.
The event, which will be held at the premises of TV3 on Saturday, 18th February 2017 has over the years saved thousands of lives, who have had to depend on blood at critical times of their ailments.
In recent years, there have been reports of the National Blood Bank becoming empty due to insufficient stocks especially during special occasions where lots of accidents are recorded.
This year’s exercise is the third successive year TV3 has partnered Tigo; a partnership that both companies are looking at sustaining going into the future.
Commenting on the upcoming exercise, the Director for Corporate Affairs at Tigo, Gifty Bingley, said: “Once again we are committed to this cause as the National Blood Bank is in dire need of blood. This drive is part of our corporate social responsibility and employee programme in which we provide support for various causes in communities.”
She called on Ghanaians to take the Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to show love by donating blood, adding that it is a good humanitarian reason to help each other and save lives.
Participants are promised a great time of entertainment during the exercise and an interactive session with their favourite TV personalities at TV3.
