A Fire outbreak on Thursday night destroyed properties worth thousands of Ghan cedis in three rooms in a six bedroom house at Madina a suburb of Accra.
Another one which happened in Assin Fosu Ahenbronoso in the Central Region destroyed about eight out of nine bedrooms.
In all the instances the cause of the fire was not readily known.
The fire at Madina started around 6:30pm.
An affected occupant of the house in Madina explained his ordeal to Citi News.
“We were working over here and a smoke started coming from this room then my master told me that he was going to enquire from occupants of the next house to find out whether it was coming from there. When he went there he saw smoke emanating from my masters room. He however asked me to relocate his motor [which was close to the smoke] and when I did that I realized there was fire in the room. So I quickly called the fire service to help bring the fire under control,” he added.
He noted that the fire extended to about three rooms.
In the case at Assin Fosu some eyewitnesses who spoke to the media blamed the cause on some gas cylinders used by a baker and occupant at the place.
