Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed deep gratitude to Ghanaians for the opportunity given him to serve the country as President.
A day after the newly elected President Nana Akufo-Addo was sworn into power, Pres. Mahama in a post on social media expressed his appreciation to the populace for his time in power. He described it as a rare honour and privilege for him to have served in the highest office as President.
At 12 midnight on January 6 2017, President John Mahama completed his tenure of leadership at the dissolution of Parliament for the constitution of a new one. Following this, an inauguration ceremony was held at the Black Star Square in Accra on January 7 to officially swear in President Akufo-Addo.
John Dramani Mahama until January 6 2017 served as President of Ghana from July 24, 2012 after serving as vice for his predecessor, President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills.
