NDC Communicator, Bernard Anim Piesie says leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) should call on the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyepong to cease his financial support for the “Delta Force”.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’, Anim Piesie noted that the “Delta Force” could be crippled when Kennedy Agyepong and other leaders in the NPP have a talkdown to the group.
He condemned the group’s recent attacks, saying they’re unacceptable and should be addressed by those powerful forces in the party.
Anim Piesie believes the NPP is not working hard to tame their vigilante groups.
“If they can call Kennedy Agyepong to tell the men to go home, that the time has come and I won’t give you money to buy food again. I won’t sponsor you again. By the next morning, the group will collapse,” he said.
Also touching on the behaviour of the “Delta Force”, NPP Deputy Communications Director, Yaw Adomako Baafi told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that he supports the vigilante group.
He noted that the group indeed played a pivotal role in the NPP’s victory in last year’s elections.
“As for me, the ‘Delta Force’; with the things they did for us which were appropriate and lawful, I support them,” he said but however condemned the group for resorting to violence to ensure their demands are heard by the party.
He stated that their attacks are unjustifiable and so called on the group to cease fire.
