The Takoradi Technical University TTU has admitted its first batch of students to officially start technical university courses for the 2016/2017 academic year.
A total of 3,425 students were matriculated on Wednesday by the Vice Chancellor of the university Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun. 2,258 out of the 5,683 students who applied however had their applications denied.
In his welcome address, Rev. Eshun urged the students to avoid procrastination and fight for academic excellence.
He said, ” the university operates the Semester Course Unit System….you will be assessed each semester on the basis of your work, attendance and completion of continuous assessment work. Avoid laziness and procrastination.”
The then Takoradi Polytechnic was the first to be converted into a technical university in the country by the president John Dramani Mahama in the middle of this year.
