The National Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is urging members of the party to take pictures of the election results or pink sheets at the polling station and collation centers and circulate on social media.
Peter Mac Manu said the new law governing elections in Ghana enjoins presiding officers to paste copies of pink sheets at the polling station and collation centers for clarity and transparency, and an extension of that transparency will be capturing and distributing such results on social media.
He said these were part of the tactics to be employed by the opposition to ensure free and fair polls.
The Former Chairman also advised President Mahama to immediately accept the outcome of the Dec 7 election, which he is confident the NPP will win.
He said this at Koforidua during the Eastern Regional launch of the NPP’s adopting a polling station campaign.
Meanwhile Osu Mantse, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, is calling on the general public not to rely on social media for election results but rely on the Electoral Commission as the only credible institution to provide such results.
