Ghana’s government will wait until after presidential elections to submit its budget proposal to parliament.
A partial spending and revenue plan for the first three months of 2017 will be presented to lawmakers in November, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement published in the Accra-based Business and Financial Times on Thursday.
The full budget will be submitted in the first quarter of 2017, after the elections, which are scheduled for as early as November.
“Owing to this year being an election year, a three-months estimate in advance of appropriation will be laid before parliament by end November,” according to the statement.
