A final year General Art student of Mando Senior High School (Mansec)in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam (AEE) District of the Central Region was found dead over the weekend in a hotel swimming pool in the area.
The deceased, identified as 20 year old Prince Sam reportedly went toNsaakoa Hotel in the area in the company of his friends butunfortunately drowned when he attempted to swim in the pool.
In a telephone interview with the mother, Madam Mariama Essuman on Monday, March 13, 2017 said that her son always returned home early to go to bed after school.
“Therefore I received the news with shock when a school
teacher and student informed me of what has happened to my r son”, she lamented.
She told Today that she was not feeling well over the weekend and thus retired to bed early with the hope that Sam would come home later to sleep.
“I was at home around 5:30 pm on Sunday when the teacher and one of the students came over to inform me of what has happened. They asked me if Sam came home yesterday and when I told them I haven’t seen him since yesterday, they broke the sad news to me”, she narrated.
According to her, Sam’s body was retrieved from the pool on Sunday when he was discovered dead by some hotel staff on Sunday.
Madam Essuman stated that she later learnt that one of the female students had a birthday party at the hotel and Sam attended only to meet his untimely death.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Breman Asikuma Hospital morgue by the police in the area.
