The continuous tagging of the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) as corrupt and incompetent by some political party communicators according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is not in any way helping in addressing its challenges.
Dr Charles Abugri on a Tamale-based radio station observed that such comments dampen the morale of staff working with the institution aside ruining its integrity for good.
He described such actions as unacceptable and posited that politicians engage management of SADA for explanation into some of its operations it has little or no knowledge about to foster that bond of god relationship rather than jump to conclusions and bring out untruths.
“Continuously referring to the institution as corrupt, incompetent and inept are ways of addressing institutional problems which is not very helpful. It damages, and when we continue like that without facts the only thing that can occur is that you damage the morale of the people who are working in it and you damage the integrity of the institution forever which is unfair and unacceptable.”He stated.
According to him, SADA has learnt its lessons and as result charts a new path and therefore want all those who are seeking to see it grow to serve the purpose for which it was set to be partners to its development and not the reverse.
“Engage the institution as a public entity. When it has limitations, you raise it. But also be fair to the institution,” he said. “You can’t beat an institution for four years based on a mistake it made four years ago. No institution can survive with it being constantly reminded of things it did four years ago.”
