Fadi Dabboussi, journalist, an NPP sympathizer, a fierce critique of the Mahama government and an author of “59 Years to Nowhere’ who was arrested by the BNI a month ago over his latest book has revealed on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM that, he has started receiving death threats.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Frontline, the journalist said one Famous Derrick Dzisam sent him a threatening message that he would organize some men to show him his levels.
According to him, the message sent to him read, ”Take this from me, look for me when you get to Achimota Kingsby Roundabout, grateful to let you know your status. A Lebanese dog like you will remain so and be tamed. St**** f**l.”
One other message sent to him he indicated was from one Rutherford Amoako Mensah which read, ”Continue with your tomfoolery, war betides you, should any of your hot air tantrums trigger any chaos before ‘Nadaa’ is elected, i will smoke you out from your possible hideout and slit your throat. We love our Ghana in peace.
Go love your Lebanon that is always worrying, since no Ghanaian can go to Lebanon and engage in your stupid style of mercenary journalism. We won’t sit aloof and watch you come destroy us.” Fadi Dabbousi stressed on the show that, he was not scared with those who are threatening him adding, ‘i dare them to come and carry out their threat., I’m not afraid of them. I will show them their levels.”
He added, ‘I have protected myself. I’m not armed, but i dare them to come and carry out their threats and i will show them their levels.” When asked why people are targeting him and sending threats, he said, ‘i don’t know why I am the target of some people. This is unfortunate.
He said, he has sent the threats and messages to the BNI for further investigations. Mr. Dabboussi’s house was ransacked and National Security took away all copies of the ’59 Years to Nowhere’ book, which were later given to him after his release.
The threats he posited will not make him stop criticizing the president and the NDC. He further expressed disgust at the hypocrisy of the ruling government for their attacks on him considering their unfortunate attacks on the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo.
When asked by the host to hold his gun against the president and the NDC, he said, he will not do it because if falls for the gag against him, the incompetence of the president will continue and citizens will continue to feel the hardship in the country.
”We have allowed thieves and corrupt leaders and people to destroy our institutions. If President Mahama is good but his leaders are bad, i have to say it. I cannot shut up and if there is wrong going on in this country, i have to say it.”
