Organisers of the Nima Excellence Awards (community development awards scheme) have announced nominees for the maiden edition of the awards scheme.
Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, (born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr.,), who many believe is influential in the community missed out on the nominations.
Wale’s dominance in areas such as Nima, Korle Gonno, Chorkor, Kasoa and other places because of his music influence, his fans say, made him qualified to be a part of the event.
The awards are non-voting and nominees are carefully selected by an Award Board in consultation with an event team in celebrating personalities and organisations for outstanding contribution to the area.
The Nima Excellence Awards (NEA) recognises and rewards significant contributions of individuals, institutions and corporate organisations who have been a global trend or positively made an impact in the community.
