In what seems like the perfect fairytale end to her year, Tennis star Serena Williams is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
It may not be the season of love for many, but for Serena, 2016 is certainly not gonna end on a single note.

A spokesperson for Ohanian confirmed that he popped the question while the two were vacationing in Rome.
Also confirming the news, Serena told the story of how the engagement happened in a story poem which she shared on her personal Reddit page.
The poem which had a cartoon of the couple at the top reads:
“I came home
A little late
Someone had a bag packed for me
And a carriage awaited
Destination: Rome
To escort me to my very own ‘charming’
Back to where our stars first collided
And now it was full circle
At the same table we first met by chance
This time he made it not by chance
But by choice
Down on one knee
He said 4 words
And
#isaidyes!”
After her post, her knight in shining armor followed suit, announcing the engagement on his facebook page. He linked his post to William’s reddit post and added “She said yes.”
Alexis and Serena have been dating since 2015 but mainly kept it out of the spotlight. Serena did post some pictures from time to time but it was seen as nothing too serious.
Earlier this year, Serena was known to be dating actor Common until we heard the news of their break up which first looked like it was just a rumour. Then many thought they were planning a secret wedding like Jay-Z and Beyonce. But finally, we realised too late that they were actually broken up. They had us eating out of their palms though.
Then it was the turn of rapper drake and they seemed to be going steady. But we all knew how much Drake was or was not into Bad girl Riri. Guess that did not last too long either.
