The Education Committee of Parliament is expected to commence investigations into the circumstances that led to the death of six infants while they were studying at Breman Gyambra in the Central Region.
The children died after the school building they were studying in caved-in on Tuesday January 31.
Four of the pupils were killed on the spot during the collapse of the dilapidated structure while two others died later at the Our lady of Grace hospital. The six pupils were laid to rest on Thursday, February 2, 2017.
Chairman of the Education Committee of Parliament, Siaka Stevens said the parliamentary committee will soon embark on a program to ensure buildings are disability friendly.
“We need to know what really happened and base on that advice, we will make right recommendations to those that matter”.
Meanwhile, the National Coordinator of the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition, Veronica Dzeagu, described the incident as unfortunate and called for stakeholders to invest more in early childhood education.
