A school building collapse in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region has left six young children dead and many others with varying degrees of injuries.
The building in which the kindergarten pupils of the Gyambra Methodist School crumbled this [Tuesday] morning while lessons were going on.
Reports reveal that four out of the six kids died on the spot while the other two died while they were being conveyed to the Breman Asikuma Government Hospital for treatments. The rest are currently receiving medical attention at the hospital.
According to an eyewitness, the collapsed building has cracks here and there which obviously led to its eventual collapse. It was however, not yet ascertained if the school authority was aware of the damages prior to the ugly incident.
Policemen from the Asikuma Brakwa District Command had reportedly rushed to the scene to help rescue the victims and also control the crowd that converged at the accident scene.
