Emmanuel Andrew Samini, known in his reggae and dancehall genre as Samini, says he wants marijuana to be decriminalised.
He said this in an interview on an Accra-based Hitz FM.
According to him, “I support Kofi Annan’s move to decriminalise marijuana.
“…some of the users were wrongly jailed. Not to say I am encouraging people to use it. But it’s inhuman to lock somebody for a small amount of it for years like the way criminals get locked up too and it’s not good,” he said.
“I am calling for it to be decriminalised so that people who use it won’t end up in jail like the criminals for many years,” Samini explained.
Samini was on the show to premiere his new dancehall song- “Winner”- produced by JMJ.
