The Ashanti regional secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sam Pyne is admonishing serial callers, footsoldiers especially executives of the party who have not yet been appointed to exercise restraint as the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo makes appointments.
Some executives of the party in the region who are reported to have vacated the party office are threatening to march to the Flagstaff House to demand their share of the appointments.
The aggrieved executives and footsoldiers lament that they have been left out of appointments after working assiduously to push the party into the Flagstaff House.
But speaking with Kwame Adinkra on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo, Mr Pyne assured that they will be appointed by the President when the time is due.
The regional secretary suggested that it was needless for the footsoldiers to go to the Flagstaff House or hit the streets.
He debunked claims that some of the regional executives have vacated the office to embark on lobbying for positions.
Mr Pyne explained that majority of the party members who abandoned their personal projects during the electioneering have gone back to put their works in shape.
‘I have heard the rumour that some of the executives have travelled to Accra to seek positions. I know that some of them have travelled to abroad and other places. But none of those who have travelled informed me that they were going to Accra to lobby for positions. Some of the executives are on personal duties, others ones a while visit the office. I have received complaints by some of them being rejected in the appointments. Some of them have even threatened to stage a demonstration but we have talked to them to exercise restraint. Not everybody can be a minister but I know that everybody will get his/her share. My advice is that they should all exercise restraint. I know that Nana Addo will not disappoint the region,’ he expressed hope.
Mr Pyne advised party members to desist from abandoning their work saying their regular agitation will paint a bad picture in the eyes of the public that NPP is in power to milk Ghanaians dry.
‘We should be concerned about Ghana’s development than seeking our personal interests,’ he entreated.
