According to him, Mahama must express regret for the way in which he caused the NDC embarrassment in the just ended elections. The former GBA boss said this in respect of Mahama’s final State of the Nation Address, which is underway.
Speaking with Joy News, Sam Okudzeto asks Mahama to apologize to NDC Founder Rawlings for all the disrespect meted out to him by the party, as well as the NDC’s massive loss in the election. He said that Mahama should apologize to the leader of the party for the loss which signifies a vote of no confidence in his administration and leadership.
Shedding light on his points, the renowned legal practitioner said that the NDC, especially younger members of the party were very rude to the NDC founder under the watch of the outgoing President. Okudzeto explained that Mahama ruptured his relationship with Rawlings in the course of his administration, as well as during election campaign and needs to apologize for that.
Rawlings is the founder of the party and no matter what happens nobody can deny that. He needed to be accorded that respect, he said.

Okudzeto also pointed out that Mahama’s massive loss killed the hopes of lots NDC members who were looking forward to serving as ministers in various capacities.
JJ Rawlings seems to share Okudzeto’s opinion regarding the so-called incompetence of the leadership of outgoing President Mahama. During his address at the 35th anniversary of the December 31st revolution, the former president among other things, said that the NDC’s defeat was as a result of its uncultured and corrupt officials. He also said the outgoing government deviated from its principles, hence its defeat.
The NDC has however, said it would respond to Rawlings’ comment in due time, as the party is still taking time to figure out the true causes of its defeat.
