According to reports, Mr Sam George who is also an NDC MP elect for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency, posted on his social media page, a congratulatory message to the NPP Flagbearer. The post as was reportedly seen by some sources reads;
President-Elect NADAA. Too many errors but the legacy of JDM is undoubted. I am humbled to have served you Sir.
The said post has left many perturbed especially as his party the NDC, declared on Thursday, that that they are leading the polls and are confident of President John Mahama’s victory. The said congratulatory message has also been interpreted by stakeholders, to be a violation of the Electoral commission’s injunction that no one should declare election results.
However, Sam George has come out to trash the reports. According to the Ningo MP elect, his Facebook account was hacked by some unknown persons who posted the congratulatory message. Sam George wrote;
My Facebook account has been hacked. A fake message has been sent. Kindly ignore the mischief. My account should be up and running soon.
Sam George has said he is in no position to determine the winner of the elections and that EC Chairperson Charlotte Osei, is the only person who has the legal power to declare the results of the election.
Nana Akufo-Addo has been projected by many political stakeholders to win the 2016 Presidential election, although the EC has not yet declared the results of the polls. Yesterday, Flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi nduom conceded defeat and congratulated Nana Addo for winning the Presidential polls.
