The assembly member for Assin North district assembly in the central region Nana Yaw has alleged that some youth who are into quick money ‘sakawa’ business threatened to kill him after advising them against the act.
According to the Assembly member, the irate youth invaded his house at night with machetes and other dangerous weapons threatening to spill his blood if they gained access to his room.
Speaking to Ultimate News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour on the matter, Nana Yaw explained that his only crime was that he advised the youth to desist from such negative acts as it didn’t augur well for the community with many people having fallen victim to their pranks.
Many people in the area, he explained have been swindled by the youth causing such people to lose valuable items including money.
The youth, he added were not happy with his advice thereby storming his house to attack him in the night.
His complaint to the police, he said has yielded little as the police have failed to arrest the perpetrators.
He is therefore calling on the authorities in the area to help bring the youth to book to forestall any eventuality.
Meanwhile, the police commander for the area ASP Okyere Andam debunked the assertion by the Assembly man explaining that the police are on course in arresting the perpetrators.
