The New Patriotic Party has commenced her proposed 21-day fast ahead of the December 7 elections. The programme began with a candlelight vigil and prayer service held Wednesday night, at the Koforidua Jackson Park, in the Eastern Region. The NPP vigil was presided over by Reverend Owusu Bempah of the Glorious Word Ministry.
The event saw a large crowd of NPP supporters on a candlelight parade through the major streets of Koforidua before converging at the Jackson Park for a special prayer service.

Speaking at the NPP vigil, Rev Owusu Bempah reiterated his prophecy that Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo will win the 2016 presidential election. According to him, God has anointed and chosen the NPP flag bearer, to be the next president of Ghana. He stressed that it is the will of God that Nana Addo becomes Ghana’s leader from 2017, and nothing will stop it from happening.
Owusu Bempah described Nana Akufo-Addo as a peaceful person and the best candidate God had chosen to lead Ghana. Making reference to the biblical Nathan and Saul, he said that there is nothing wrong in a pastor campaigning for a politician.
The pastor also pointed out that the NPP’s 5th position on the ballot is a divine one, as five stands for grace.
The NPP vigil, which is a 21-day fasting and praying exercise tagged, ‘The Battle Is The Lord’s: Declaration Towards Victory and Peace of Ghana’, is aimed at praying earnestly to God to grant the NPP victory in the coming election.
Having begun on the 16th of November, the programme will end on the 7th of December, the day of the elections. According to schedule, night prayers will be held daily at all NPP offices in the Eastern region and throughout the country for the 21 days.

One needs not ask why Owusu Bempah was the NPP’s choice of an officiating minister in the all-important spiritual exercise as it is no longer news that the pastor has been prophesying Nana Addo’s sure victory in the coming polls.
In his bid to convince one and all about his prediction that the NPP flagbearer will be the next President of Ghana, Owusu Bempah has made several bizarre declarations. He had said that the EC Boss will die if Mahama ever emerges winner of the presidential election. He has also challenged Ghanaians to tag him a fake prophet, as well as burn down his church if Akufo-Addo fails in the polls.
Rev Bempah, who is so sure of Nana Addo’s victory, also stated that even if Ghanaians refuse to vote for Akufo-Addo, Angels will come down and vote for him.
