3FM’s Campus Rocks show last Friday turned its attention to competition amongst tertiary students but the focus was not about best grades but rather material things.
The trend of students at the various campuses competing amongst themselves in terms of material things ranging from clothing, bags and shoes to various hairstyles and even underwear has been rampant and is raising concerns about the purpose for which most of these students are in school.
Campus Rocks, which is hosted by Root Eye of Music Music fame, focused on the topic ‘Unnecessary competition amongst Tertiary students’ and had two students namely Samani from Accra Polytechnic and Diddy, a graduate of IPMC, in the studio to shed light on the happenings on some campuses.
According to them, the wannabees on campuses spark the competition because they want people to notice them.
Some go to the extent of borrowing underwears, according to the ladies.
The guys also blamed the ladies for bringing competition amongst them because they always want people to know that their boyfriends are loud, known and most importantly the well-to-do guy on campus.
