Presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has charged the Ghanaian electorate not to allow themselves to be used by politicians who are only interested in using them to advance their political careers.
According to the PPP flagbearer, such people do not genuinely have their interests at heart.
He was addressing party supporters and residents of Kumbungu in the Northern region where he has taken his campaign.
Dr Nduom, in apparent reference to the NDC’s candidate for the constituency, said elections must not be the only period when people remember where they hail from.
“Nobody will have to come here to come and introduce this man [referring to the party’s candidate in the region] to tell you that he is from here, you know him already.
“We are saying he is from here but has done a lot for you already that is why you should vote for him. I will not mention any names but somebody went to Accra in the hope to become an MP in Accra and when he could not succeed now he knows that he is from Kumbungu so will come here to contest elections in Kumbungu,” he added.
He urged the electorate to vote for the one who has already proven his worth and not one who just comes in from nowhere.
Don’t vote for somebody who “has been sitting in Accra when he hears of election then he is running here to come and look for your vote.”
