The X Factor’s Reggie ‘N’ Bollie have been axed from Simon Cowell’s Syco record label.
The duo only signed to Syco a month after finishing as runners-up to Louisa Johnson in the 2015 final.
The label made the decision because the pair “struggled to turn their support into record sales,” reports The Sun.
A source told the newspaper: “They have worked really hard for the last year but their relationship with Syco didn’t work out and they wanted different things.
“Their music was very poppy and chart-focused but now they want to focus on a different style.”
Confirming the news, a Syco spokesperson said: “Reggie ‘n’ Bollie are no longer working with us. We wish the guys the best of luck for the future.”
Early last year, the runners-up said Cheryl would be appearing on their debut album.
Asked by This Morning’s Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby if the mentor would be lending her vocals to the project, they said: “We’ve spoken to her, she’s really happy and she’s promised that she will feature but we are still keeping our fingers crossed.”
