Following claims by members of the missing state cars recovery task force, that they have retrieved 25 of the so called cars from officials of the past government, Dr. Clement Abasinaab Apaak, NDC Member of Parliament for Builsa South, has challenged the task force to publish the names of those they have retrieved the cars from if indeed the claim is true.
Apart from that, the MP also said the task force should also publish what positions the officials held, the make of the cars and the numbers of the cars.
Whiles speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen political talk show on Wednesday 22 February, Nana Obiri Boahen, NPP Deputy General Secretary, said they have retrieved 25 of the missing cars from ex-government officials.
He said Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, Brong Ahafo Youth Organizer of the NPP, who has been spearheading the retrieval of the cars, has details of all the retrieved cars.
According to him contrary to claims by the NDC that the government task force was just a ploy to witch-hunt former government officials, over two dozens of such state cars had been found and repossessed.
But in an interview with The Enquirer, Dr. Apaak suggested that “if it’s true that 25 cars have been retrieved, I challenge those making these claims to publish the names of those they retrieved the cars from, the make of the cars and the numbers of the cars”.
Members of the immediate past government have insisted that all the presidential cars were handed over to the government’s transition team lead by Ayikoi Otoo.
