Kwadwo Amakye, the 20-year-old who is being charged with forgery of document and publication of false news by Vodafone Ghana is likely to go free. The telecom giant will no longer be prosecuting Kwadwo according to sources within the company who hinted to Starr FM.
Kwadwo Amakye is facing two charges – forgery of document and the publication of false news. The Takoradi Police effected his arrest and transferred him to the Airport Police where the matter is being handled.
Following this announcement, the general public has expressed immense disappointment and hugely condemned the brand for taking this too far.
A hashtag #IStandWithKooBlackie which was started as a last night seems to have become the official hashtag for the topic. Another user even created a new Scratch card with a message to free Kwadwo as pictured below:
Below are some of the Tweets in response to the case:
You arrested him for doing this? What's his charge? Are you people okay at all? @VodafoneGhana pic.twitter.com/xklW8Sn5p9

Nobody is denying @VodafoneGhana's rights to prosecute Amakye. We're questioning their utter lack of moral discretion. #IstandforKooBlackie
