A citizen of Alavanyo and a patron of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Hohoe Constituency, Ellis Prince Antsroe, has called on the youth of the party to protect the reputation of the party by eschewing all forms of violence.
There were recent reports of violence in some parts of the country following the declaration of the December 7 elections.
Some youth purported to be supporters of the New Patriotic Party allegedly seized tollbooths, toilets and brutalized persons believed to be members of the opposition.
The post-election events, Ellis Prince Antsroe said that “I want to advise the NPP supporters especially the youth nation-wide not to yield to the temptations out there from the camp of our opponents. No true lover of NPP can go out there to cause trouble because we have won the elections and we have no pains in our hearts. I feel some people are strategically causing trouble to discredit NPP and or make the country ungovernable for President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo.”
The young patriot who is not enthused by the situation has urged the youth to stay away from troubles as such activities would only derail the ideals of the party.
“Let us stand upright and safeguard the image of our great party, the NPP. We have to remain calm and smart so that other people do not pose to be NPP supporters to cause trouble and vandalize Ghana’s infrastructure in order to continue to tag our great party as a violent party. This is the time for us to pray for Nana to succeed as Ghana’s president”.
Ellis Prince Antsroe, recently donated an office complex to the party in the Hohoe constituency to help facilitate party activities prior to the general elections.
