One of the most vibrant volunteer groups in the 2016 NPP Campaign, Professionals for Change continue to share Nana Addo’s message of hope with Ghanaians.
Professionals for change is made up of professionals from all walks of life who have dedicated their time and resources to support the NPP’s campaign and work for Change. Since its creation in March, 2016, the group has undertaken several outreach programmes, reaching out to the poor and marginalized, and providing support to the needy in the Greater Accra, Central, Eastern, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti and Volta regions of Ghana. Drivers for Change, Kayaye for Change are other sub-groups and initiatives of the group.
Continuing their outreaches in the Greater Accra region, the group recently took the message of hope to the Okaikoi North Constituency. This is the second time the group is campaigning in Okaikoi North. The first was in April 2016 when the team inaugurated drivers for change in the various lorry parks in the constituency as well as embarking on community canvassing.
On this second visit, Professionals for change organized free medical screening for the people of Nii Boiman, a suburb in the Constituency. Some of the checks done by the Health Professionals of the group included blood sugar level tests, malaria test, blood pressure, hepatitis etc.
The Parliamentary Candidate of the Constituency, Fuseini Issah, who joined the group in their outreach, implored the Constituents to take advantage of the free health screening. He also reminded the people about the good health policies the NPP has lined up for the people of Ghana, including reviving the ailing NHIS, restoring nurses’ trainees allowance, upgrading hospitals etc. He thus noted that a vote for Nana Addo and himself is a guarantee of better health and wellbeing.
Aside the health screening, the group also did house to house canvassing in the Bra Kwame Drug Store area, reiterating the urgency for all Ghanaians to vote for a competent and incorruptible leadership. They distributed campaign flyers to the people and shared the vision of the PC in developing the Constituency should they elect him as their MP.
Buoyed by the success of its outreach activities and goodwill generated, the group considers its patriotic duty, where feasible, to support other volunteer groups that share a common vision of “arresting the decline of the economy brought about by rampant corruption, thievery, incompetence and insensitivity of the Mahama administration”, leaders of the Group stated.
With less than six weeks to the December 7 elections, Professionals for Change say it has no intention of slowing down in its determination to assist in liberating Ghana from the “tyranny of the Mahama/Amissah-Arthur administration and replace them with the visionary and competent leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.”
