President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation Ben Nunoo-Mensah has beaten Ghana Olympic Committee President Professor Francis Dodoo in elections held on Wednesday, March 15.
The elections were part of the 2017 Congress ongoing at the Swiss Spirit Hotels and Suites Alisa in Accra.
Mr Nunoo-Mensah polled 33 votes to beat the two-time president, who polled 28 votes.
Elections were also conducted for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice Presidents for the Committee as well as for the General Secretary.
Votes for Treasurer were annulled after a suspected case of overvoting.
General Secretary Richard Akpokavie beat Mohammed Sahnoon by 36 to 26 votes to retain his position.
Leanier Addy, Albert Frimpong, Mawuko Afadgenu, Herbert Mensah and Isaac Duah were the five Olympic Sports members elected to join the Committee.
